1. This last year

Has shown me how divided our country really is. Irregardless of the issue, there are always two side completely against each other. One side trying to further human rights, while the other trying to hold it back.

My parents raised me to believe that everyone is the same, irregardless of their skin color, gender, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. Everyone deserves a chance to be loved and have someone love them back.

I have never been more upset with the people that are supposed to support the ideals of ‘freedom’.

As a women I have never felt more attacked for simply having a vagina. As a human I have never been more disgusted by my ‘neighbors’ for the lack of compassion when it comes to the simple act of love.

When did it become more complicated than that? The simple act of allowing people to love one another? Since when did people find power in oppressing others? How can you tell people they are wrong if they don’t believe the way you do?

I would hate for a group to tell me I made the wrong choice, or that I love the wrong person.
